Why Voyager Sextant
The difference is in what we are not trying to sell you.
Structured education, not product placement. Country-specific depth, not generic templates. A measured pace that respects how adults actually make decisions.
Back to HomeCore Advantages
What sets the courses apart
These are not marketing claims — they are the practical consequences of being an education provider rather than a product distributor.
Expatriate-Specific Content
Written specifically for people who have accumulated financial lives across more than one country — not adapted from single-country guidance.
No Product Recommendations
We do not receive commission from financial products. Our content is not influenced by what we might sell you afterwards. None of our programmes conclude with a product pitch.
Country-Level Depth
The UK, US, Canada, and Australia are covered in specific detail — not as footnotes, but as primary content that reflects where most Hong Kong expatriates will eventually retire.
Measured, Unselling Tone
No urgency language, no pressure tactics. The tone throughout is that of a considered professional resource — which is what adults making major decisions actually need.
Calibrated to Your Timeline
Three distinct programmes address different planning horizons. Whether you are ten years from a decision or three, there is a course structured for where you actually are.
Documented Outcomes
The Full Programme produces a written multi-country retirement plan — a concrete document to work from and refine with your own advisers over time.
Expertise
Built by people who have lived this complexity
Voyager Sextant's curriculum was developed by practitioners with direct experience in cross-border estate planning, adult financial education, and the specific rules that govern MPF, UK National Insurance, US Social Security, Australian superannuation, and Canadian CPP as they apply to Hong Kong-based earners.
The content does not simplify for the sake of comfort. It addresses the actual decisions — including the ones that are not straightforward — with the level of specificity that participants need to be genuinely useful.
What this means in practice
- MPF portability rules covered for major destination countries
- Home-country pension coordination frameworks included
- Tax treaty implications addressed at country level
- Content reviewed regularly as legislation evolves
Programme structure
- Weekly modules, structured for professional schedules
- Worked examples with real-scenario framing
- Written frameworks you retain after the course
- Progression at considered pace, not rushed delivery
Process
Designed for people with demanding schedules
Most of our participants are still working full-time when they enrol. The programmes are structured around that reality — weekly modules that can be completed without disrupting professional commitments, with enough spacing between topics to allow reflection and application.
The Full Programme's ten-week duration is deliberate. Retirement planning involves decisions that benefit from time — not from being rushed through a compressed schedule.
Service
Responsive without being transactional
We respond to enquiries within two working days. For questions that arise during a programme, we provide answers that are clear about the distinction between educational content and professional advice — so you always know what you are receiving.
We do not use high-pressure follow-up sequences. If you enquire and decide the timing is not right, that is a decision we respect.
How we communicate
- Two working day response commitment
- Clear language — no jargon without explanation
- Questions answered during programme delivery
- No unsolicited sales contact after enquiry
Value at each level
- Foundations (HKD 1,780): orientation and decision framework
- MPF & Pensions (HKD 2,680): detailed dual-jurisdiction analysis
- Full Programme (HKD 3,280): complete written plan as output
- No hidden fees or upsells within programmes
Value
Transparent pricing, clear scope
Each programme has a fixed fee with no additions. The scope of what you receive is clearly stated before you enrol. We do not treat the course itself as an acquisition step toward selling you something more expensive afterward.
For the scale of the decisions involved — retirement planning across multiple countries — the programmes are positioned to be accessible to the professional audience they are designed for.
How We Compare
Structured education vs typical alternatives
This is not a dismissal of other resources — it is a practical comparison of what different approaches are designed to do.

Distinctive Features
What we offer that others do not
The only HK-focused expatriate retirement curriculum
We are not aware of another structured educational programme in Hong Kong that addresses expatriate retirement planning specifically — with MPF, home-country pension coordination, and multi-destination decision-making as its core subject matter.
A written plan as the deliverable
The Full Programme concludes with each participant producing a written multi-country retirement plan. This is a working document — not a certificate — that you can share with your own advisers and revisit as circumstances change.
Content that acknowledges passport country matters
Very little retirement education treats passport country as the primary variable it actually is. Our country-specific content is structured around this reality — because the same Hong Kong MPF balance has meaningfully different implications depending on where you plan to retire.
Three-stage curriculum with logical progression
The Foundations, MPF & Pensions, and Full Programme courses form a coherent arc. Participants who want to go deeper can progress through the stages — each course builds on, rather than repeating, what came before.
